Lady Pioneers win; Lady Rattlers stumble

The North Central Texas Academy Lady Pioneers hit the road Tuesday and came home with a volleyball sweep of Fort Worth Covenant Classical 25-9, 25-21, 25-18.

“The girls are continuing to work hard and we are getting better with each game,” said first-year NCT coach Emily Britt.

Sara Etherington led NCT (7-9, 1-1 in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 2-A) with seven kills and served four aces. Shelby Lyle posted eight kills.

“We are rebuilding,” said Britt.

“I have several girls that have never played, but we are moving in the right direction.”


The Tolar Lady Rattlers (8-10, 0-3 in District 10-2A) fell 25-17, 25-19, 25-10 at Maypearl Tuesday.

This was the first of six consecutive road matches for the Lady Rattlers before they finish with four straight at home.
