Lady Pioneers blast to 10th win of season

December 15, 2012

The North Central Texas Lady Pioneers made short work of visiting Waco Methodist Children’s Home Tuesday, winning 66-20.

Shelby Lyle led NCTA (10-2) with 27 points, including five 3-pointers.

First-year head coach Emily Britt said that while they won two of three in the Glen Rose Tournament, the two-time defending TAPPS Class A state champs weren’t pleased with experiencing a loss.

“The girls were ready to work after the tournament. Losing did not sit well with any of us,” she said. “I adjusted something and the girls were ready to play.”
