Lady Indians win big

The Lipan Lady Indians held Graford to single digits in each quarter en route to a 65-21 Tuesday night.

The Lady Indians (2-1), ranked No. 2 in the state in Class A Division II by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, were led by Lanie Roberts with 23 points. Shauna Coleman added a dozen points with 10 rebounds, and Tallen Halliday had 11 points and eight steals.

The Lady Indians raced out to an 18-4 lead after the first quarter and were never threatened.

Lipan shot 48 percent from 2-point range (22-for-46), and nearly half of their 32 rebounds were offensive (15).

Lipan had 22 steals and forced 25 turnovers. Graford had a single steal and forced just six turnovers.

Graford also struggled from both 2-point range (6-for-23) and 3-point range (2-for-15). Lipan attempted 33 shots from 3-point range, making seven.
