Indians run by Millsap

The Lipan Indians got 19 points from Trevor Hedeman to lead them to a 64-49 road victory against Millsap Friday night.

The Indians (1-1) spoiled the debut of former Granbury assistant coach Josh Jones.

Joel Rice added 10 points for the Indians.

Lipan shot 50 percent (14-for-28) from 2-point range, while limiting the Bulldogs to 33 percent (8-for-24). Millsap did have a slight advantage from 3-point range, making seven to the Indians’ five.

Lipan also had a decided lead at the free throw line, hitting 21 of 35 compared to 12 of 27 for Millsap. The teams combined for 50 fouls (22 Lipan, 28 Millsap).

Lipan outrebounded Millsap 40-32, with Lance Ferguson pulled down a game-high eight and Hedeman grabbing seven.

The teams also combined for 32 turnovers (14 Lipan, 18 Millsap), but the Indians had 10 steals compared to none for the Bulldogs.
