Indians avenge upset

Having already assured themselves of a playoff berth, the Lipan Indians got a little payback against visiting Gordon Tuesday, winning 10-3.

It was the final home game of the season for Lipan (9-4, all District 10-A games), barring a home appearance in the playoffs.

The win also avenged an upset loss at Gordon in the first round of district.

Pitcher Colby Clinton improved to 8-0, striking out 12 and surrendering two hits. He walked seven and hit two batters.

Hunter Hightower, Lance Ferguson and Trevor Hedeman each hit a home run for the Indians.

Lipan has rescheduled its regular-season finale at Albany for 4 p.m. Monday. A win by the Indians would give them second place in district.

The Indians will play one of three teams from 9-A in bidistrict, Archer City, Petrolia or Chico. That game or best-of-three series will be late next week.
