Behind the play of Tyler Hoskins, the North Central Texas Academy Pioneers reached the .500 mark for the first time this season with Friday’s 84-49 victory at Wichita Falls Christian.

Hoskins rushed 22 times for 288 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught a pass for an 18-yard touchdown as the Pioneers improved to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Six-Man Division II District 2.

He also posted seven tackles and an interception on defense.

Drayton Williams also had a big night all-around for the Pioneers. He caught two passes for 62 yards and a touchdown, returned a kickoff 62 yards for a score, and had seven tackles.

The Pioneers’ record is misleading. Their losses have been to University Interscholastic League powers Zephyr, Blum and Lingleville, along with Wichita Falls Notre Dame, the No. 1 team in the state in TAPPS Six-Man Division II.
