The Granbury Civic Chorus will present its spring concert Monday, May 6 at 7 p.m. at Acton United Methodist Church.

The concert, Musical Reflections: Songs of the Human Experience, encompasses a wide variety of music genres, themes and time periods.

The concert features “The Way You Look Tonight,” from the 1930s, “Fly Me To The Moon,” from the 1950s and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” from the 1970s. These songs were selected to reflect the popular style and mood o their era.

Other choral sections reflect themes of patriotism, faith, hope and enduring love. “You Raise Me Up,” a song recorded and made popular in 2003 by Josh Groban, is a chorus favorite and has been performed in concert and churches worldwide. The lyrics speak to people of all ages.

Sandy Hearne will provide accompaniment on both the piano and organ. Greg Doss is directing the choir.

Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.
