GHS woes continue

The Granbury Lady Pirates appeared to be on their way to snapping a four-game losing streak Friday when they jumped out to a 2-0 lead on visiting Waxahachie.
Instead, they suffered a fifth consecutive loss, 5-2, as the Lady Indians scored four second-half goals.
“We played a pretty solid first half. We had them where we wanted them,” said Granbury coach David Winkleman.
The Lady Pirates (6-8-1) got goals from Courtney Heathington and Maggie McKenna. They nearly scored a third.
“That would have been huge,” said Winkleman. “It might have been different if that goes in.
“We’ve got a good team. We’ve got talent,” said Winkleman. “We have to get healthy and start winning games.”
Granbury’s boys and girls began District 15-4A play last night against Joshua.
