GHS girls run to 4th at Cleburne

The Granbury Lady Pirates ran to a fourth-place finish at the Marshall Young Invitational track meet at Cleburne this past weekend.

The Lady Pirates scored 59 points. Waco Midway won with 115, followed by Everman with 106.

The Pirates were eighth among the boys, scoring 32 points. Midway also won that division with 153.5 points, well ahead of Everman with 82.

The Lady Pirates had a pair of gold medal winners with Emma Thomas in the 1600-meter run in a time of 5:45.71, along with Tiffany Henney with a 1:03.52 in the 400.

Also, Rachael Perriello was second in the 400 with a 1:04.48.

The Pirates had a 1-2 finish in the pole vault with Eugene Geis and Derek Beck each clearing 12-6. Geis won the tiebreaker.
