GHS boys third at Aledo
With Travis Benson once again taking the top spot individually, the Granbury Pirates finished third as a team at the Bearcat Brawl golf tournament at Split Rail Links in Aledo last weekend.
Benson shot a 1-under-par 143 (72-71) for two rounds. It was his second individual win this spring, with a second-place finish in the other tournament after losing in a playoff.
As a team the Pirates shot 626, trailing Trophy Club Nelson at 609 and Mansfield Legacy at 624.
Also for Granbury, Justin Largent shot 158 (83-75), Austin Kinsey came in at 159 (81-78), Zach Wall posted a 167 (80-87), and Collin McCann shot 175 (89-86).
The top four scores in each round comprise the team total.
Playing as medalists only, Briggs Berry shot 167 (82-85), Harrison Knight posted a 176 (85-91), and Baker White came in at 177 (88-89).
GHS Gold fourth at W’ford
The Granbury varsity Gold team shot 356 at the Roos Classic at Sugartree in Weatherford recently. A dozen teams competed.
Individually, the Pirates were led by Patrick Wilson with an 84, followed by Davis McDuff with an 89, Mason Meek with a 94, and Justin Eason rounded out the scoring with a 95.
