G’bury track competes at Brewer

Dillon Graham in the high jump and Tiffany Henney in the triple jump highlighted the Granbury Pirates and Lady Pirates in the recent Ben Davis Relays at Brewer High School, followed by strong showings at their own Johnny Perkins Relays.

Graham cleared 6 feet to take second in the high jump at Brewer, and won the high jump on his own track, clearing 6-2. Henney’s triple jump of 33 feet, 7 inches, was good enough for a silver medal at Brewer, followed by a long jump of 15-9 for silver at the Johnny Perkins Relays.

“We are still running without our complete team, probably will not have all of them together until district. They are still in other sports. We are doing great with what we have,” said Pirates coach Jodie Scott.

“Our times are improving with each meet, relay handoffs are looking much better and girls are feeling more comfortable and confident with their events,” said Lady Pirate coach Amber Ward.
