Sound Off, July 3

July 3, 2013

I enjoyed the presentation of 1776 in the historic courthouse. If the benches on the second floor are historically correct, I can understand why the justice dispensed there was swiftly administered.

The roadside trash in Granbury is a disgrace.

It is sad to hear that Sgt. McLean lost his battle after being shot Friday. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and to officer Davis, Granbury PD, Hood Co. Sheriff Dept. our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of loss of a fellow officer.

Cheers to our Granbury police and sheriff’s department for keeping our community safe. Thanks for taking care of a situation without any bystanders getting hurt. Good job Chad Davis for your bravery.

Can anything be done about the unattractive “junk yards” seen on 144 in the Knob Hill neighborhood?

Hood County Deputies who protect our community, who take the risk of gun fire, who are one of the first on the scene when first responders are needed, deserve MORE!

Jeers to the guy who “seemed” to be in charge of the softball games this week at the City Park. Your negative words, that everyone had to sit there and listen to, were quite disturbing.

Cheers to the fact that our house is on the market to sell! Hopefully, some loser here in Hood County will buy it so we can escape from the most dysfunctional county in America. The list of bad things about Stupidville County is too long for Sound Off!

Cheers! We will be out of Hood County before and after the 4th of July, and we will miss the bums using firecrackers in Bentwater until 1 a.m. or later night after night before and after the 4th. Jeers to law enforcement for not doing anything if you call and complain.

This town is so quaint and beautiful in so many ways. Then you look at the center median that goes right down the middle of 377…It is beyond hideous and just plain embarrassing.

Now is the time to get rid of those ugly stumps and trees in the lake! I know several people looking for someone to hire.

I live on the lake and I have not used my sprinkler system in a year. I have neighbors that have run their water lines out into the lake for over 50 feet just to water their own lawns. Isn’t there some kind of limit to them doing such a selfish thing? Now we look at water lines and floating markers on top of a field of greenery in the lake bed.

A BIG THANK YOU to the guys who pushed my son & I out of traffic on HWY 377 when our truck broke down.

Cheers to the wonderful lady who found my wallet in a parking lot and turned it in with all credit cards and cash.

Cheers to the gentleman that found my purse in Walmart and took it to the service desk.

Don’t tell me Granbury isn’t a wonderful place to live! After a white purse was left on the hood, some nice soul stopped, picked it up and followed the owner all the way home to return.
