Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds was hospitalized over the weekend in Lake Granbury Medical Center and was being treated for dehydration as of press time.
That’s according to County Commissioner Dick Roan.
Roan said on Monday said he expected Deeds would return to work by today or Thursday at the latest.
“He’s feeling an awful lot better than when he went in,” Roan said, noting that Deeds was put on liquids and antibiotics. “They think he may have had some kind of a virus.”
Roan said he had just visited Deeds in the hospital, but added that there is a “no visitors” sign posted outside his room so that he could rest after greeting a multitude of well-wishers.
Deeds was working in his office Saturday morning when he began to feel a problem coming on and had a loss of energy, Roan said.
“He basically works 24/7,” Roan said. “He’s a devoted guy.”
