The 24-year-old Lipan resident who was injured just over a week ago when his car struck four feral hogs and then hit a tree on FM 1189 in Parker County is expected to be released this week from John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Brandon Jarboe will have to return for surgery to repair his broken ankle.
Jarboe had surgery to repair a fractured disc in his back Thursday, according to his mother, Dusty Burrow.
Since then he was moved to a regular room, and has had stitches in his head removed and his IVs discontinued, she said.
He was on his way to work in Weatherford when his Ford Fiesta struck the hogs, killing all four. The car went through a culvert before striking the tree.
Jarboe also suffered a broken nose and lacerated forehead.
