Second grader advances to Texas Reading Bee

Kenna Clark, a secondgrader at Emma Roberson Elementary School, will be representing Granbury ISD at the Texas Reading Bee Championship on Saturday, Nov. 17, on the campus of Texas Christian University.

For the competition, students are judged in three areas: accuracy (number of correct words), fluency (number of correct words per minute) and comprehension (number of correct answers to two explicit and one implicit questions) of high school-level readings.

The championship will feature winners from several Dallas-Fort Worth area school districts. Over 60,000 North Texas second-graders participated in this year’s competition.
