Workers spell out Granbury in the end zone on Johnny Perkins Field at Pirate Stadium as installation of the new artificial surface nears completion. The surface is expected to be ready well before the Pirates host their first home game, Sept. 6 against Fort Worth North Side. Granbury will play four home games this season. Along with football, the surface can be used for a variety of activities, including soccer, band, drill team, and even practice for baseball and softball if those fields are too wet, athletic officials said.
