Seventh grader career exploration classes at Granbury Middle School and Acton Middle School viewed a rocketry demonstration by Tarleton State University students on Friday.

In June, the Tarleton Aeronautical Team placed sixth in the international collegiate CanSat Competition, a student design-build-launch rocket competition open to university teams from around the world that involves the design of a planetary lander and carrier that contains a biological payload. Sponsoring the team is TSU math professor and former Granbury ISD school trustee Bo Brawner.

In the middle school classes, students are completing interest inventories and surveys to gain a better understanding of themselves, their interests and their abilities. They are also incorporating decision-making tools and problem-solving skills through career investigation, college and career readiness exploration.

Leading classes are Valerie Brau at GMS and Henry Pearson at AMS.
