Hospital CEO to leave for Weatherford

January 19, 2013

Lake Granbury Medical Center Chief Executive Officer David Orcutt has taken a position as CEO at Weatherford Regional Medical Center, effective Feb. 4, 2013.

“Leaving Granbury is one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made,” Orcutt said. “Jennifer and I have made great friends here, and our kids love their schools and teachers.  Lakeside Baptist Church has been a big part of our lives, and we’ll miss all the parades and activities on the square. Granbury is a wonderful community.”

During the transition, the hospital board will search for a permanent replacement.

Barry Schneider, an experienced hospital executive, is serving as the interim CEO.

Hospital board chairman Robert Burns praised Orcutt’s leadership in his six years here.

“David’s vision and strategic approach have helped us exceed our goals,” Burns said. “We are sorry to see him leave, but we’re not surprised that he has been chosen to guide a larger facility to the same level of success.”

Dr. Kyle McCombs, the hospital’s chief of medical staff, also lauded Orcutt.

“David has worked with our physicians to build a strong and collaborative medical staff,” McCombs said. “He’s helped the hospital recruit many new specialties and add advanced services like the daVinci surgical robot, the cardiac cath lab and the sleep disorders center.”

Orcutt said, “It has been an honor to work with the team at LGMC. The medical staff is the best I’ve ever worked with, and the staff and leadership are top-notch. LGMC is continuing to build, recruit new physicians and add services. I’m excited to see what the team does next.”

LGMC plans to build a 40,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB) attached to the hospital. The second MOB will provide room for more specialists.
