A fire Saturday night destroyed a two-story, 4,000-square-foot stone and stucco home in the 3100 block of Grand Point in the gated Grand Harbor community off Davis Road, according to Fire Marshal Ray Wilson.

No one was in the home.

The home was to be a retirement home for a Dallas couple, who were in Dallas at their other home at the time.

Wilson noted that the fire likely began upstairs. The cause is under investigation, but Wilson said he does not think it was suspicious. The home was insured.

The fire was called in to 911 at 6:46 p.m., and firefighters continued to battle the blaze until after midnight, Wilson said.
