It’s not often that the Granbury City Council is in agreement, but such was the case Tuesday night when council members voted on the name for the new dog park.
Out of 200 contest entrants and 168 suggested names, it was Granbury Bark Park that was selected by a unanimous vote. The council chose it from three finalists selected by the Parks Board.
Turns out, a number of people thought up the same name. They will all be recognized at the park’s grand opening on Saturday, April 20. They are: Bill Mitchell; Cherri Medcalf; Ian Moore; Robin Greer; Mallory Forsythe; Allan Ekdahl; Christina Brendenkamp; Dewayne Jackson; Mary Jo Stearns; Lisa Rollins; Mattie Uhyrek; Susan Mccue; Tammy Anderson; Jason Rust; Todd, Sarah and Emily Knapp; and Georganna Barnes.
The dog park is located near Moore Street, by the ballfields. All dogs using the park must be properly registered.
