Child found in road after 911 call

January 12, 2013

A call to 911 at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday alerted authorities to the fact that a 5-year-old girl was reportedly walking in the path of traffic, but the child was returned to her mother by a deputy who responded.

The girl was found near the intersection of Old Granbury Road and Kathy Lane, which is not in the Granbury city limits, according to Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose. The child lives with her mother on nearby Robb Lane inside the city limits in Old Granbury Estates near Temple Hall Highway.

Rose said that the child was found in good condition, but the District Attorney’s Office and the Crimes Against Children Task Force is investigating the incident.

“Old Granbury Road has a lot of high-speed traffic, so I’m glad the child was uninjured and okay and back with the family,” Rose said.
