October 5, 2013

The Hood County Tea Party will host a candidates forum for Granbury City Council contenders on Thursday.

The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Granbury City Hall, 116 W. Bridge St.

The mayor’s seat will be on the ballot, as well as the Place 2 and Place 4 positions. There are multiple candidates for each race.

Candidates for mayor are former Mayor David Southern; the current mayor pro tem, Nin Hulett; and longtime Granbury resident Billy Joe (Scooter) Thomas.

Tony Allen is running for re-election in Place 2. He is opposed by John Bratta, Phoenix (John) Van Daele and J.T. Winn.

Place 4 is a special election to fill the year that remains on Hulett’s term. He took over mayoral duties after Mayor Rickie Pratt suffered a stroke.

Candidates for that seat are: Ken Grey, Tom Baker, Tony Mobly and Rose B. Myers.

All three places will be on the Nov. 5 ballot.
