The first day of school got off to a slightly bumpy start for a bus and its 25 student occupants Monday, but no damage was spotted and no injuries were reported.
The bus stopped at the light on FM 4 at James Road and was getting ready to turn right to deliver the students to Acton Middle School, according to GISD Public Information Officer Jeff Meador. A woman driving a vehicle pulled onto the right shoulder, also intending to turn right.
From reports, apparently there was some sort of minor contact made between the two vehicles, but nothing significant. The bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle got out and failed to see any damage, so the woman left the scene.
“There was no evidence that contact was made with the bus,” said Granbury Police Deputy Chief Alan Hines.
“There (were) no scuff marks or paint transfer. Neither party located damage so they left the scene.”
