A fire that began on the porch of a double-wide mobile home Friday night caused extensive damage, but the full extent had not been determined by press time Monday, according to Hood County Fire Marshal Ray Wilson.
Wilson said the porch area of the home on Sagittarius Lane in the Sky Harbour subdivision was destroyed in the fire, which was called in to 911 at 9:23 p.m.
None of the family members who lived there were home at the time, and no injuries were reported, Wilson noted.
“It did get into the house, so there is damage inside,” Wilson said, adding that the exact source and cause of the blaze is unknown, and the fire is still under investigation.
The Red Cross contacted the family to discuss making arrangements for a place to stay, Wilson said.
