Thelma “Tim” was born Aug. 23, 1916 in Yarrelton, Tx. to Authur and Minnie Lois Chapman. She married her childhood sweetheart Edgar Thomas Payne on Dec. 25, 1931 and joyously celebrated 54 years of marriage. After retirement they moved to Hemet, living a relaxed happy life until he passed away. At that time Tim started the next phase of her life, with many wonderful friends and neighbors, traveling, entertaining church friends, playing 42 and being a faithful servant of the Lord. The family wishes to express gratitude to Glynda Gast, Amy Harrison and Janeece Barker from Freedom Hospice for the care and love shown to our mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and oldest brother.
She is survived by daughters Shirley Crowther (Richard) of Ventura, CA and Janet DiMasi (Leonardo) of Granbury, TX; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
