Sara Bentley, 23, a former Granbury resident, born March 4, 1990 in Dallas, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 in Tacoma, Wash. She was a student at the University of Washington, six months away from her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.
Sara graduated from Bowie High School in Arlington. She married the love of her life and best friend, her high school sweetheart, David Bentley, on May 1, 2010. They moved to Army Joint Base Lewis-McCord near Seattle, Wash. where Sara was enrolled at the University of Washington.
Sara brightened every life she touched and was known for her happy, kindred spirit, spunky flare and bubbly personality. She was a loyal friend to all she met and a treasured wife, daughter, sister and granddaughter. Her husband, SpecE4 David Bentley, U.S. Army is left with a treasured memory of his shining star, the light of his life, now lighting up the heavens.
Left to cherish her memory, her surviving family in Granbury includes her mother Deanna Stirling, stepfather Joe Moad, and her grandparents Robert W. and Carol Cook. Her loving husband, David, her sisters, father, and aunts, uncles, and cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles, grandparents, and in-laws, along with dozens of school mates and loving friends will cherish and miss her sweet soul and smiling face forever.
Visitation and church services are at St. Andrews United Methodist Church from 4 – 8 p.m. on Sunday April 21, located at 2045 Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. Moore Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of taking her to be laid to rest in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
