Sam Oron Harris Jr., 55, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He lived in Granbury with his loving wife.
Sam was born on Nov. 3, 1957 in Fort Worth. He graduated from Everman High School in 1976 where he excelled in track and football. Sam and Cathy were happily married for 24 years.
Sam received a degree in Electronics Engineering and worked most of his career for Patterson Dental. Sam was an avid sports fan who loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and was well-known for telling a good joke and fishing whenever he could get away.
Sam was survived by his wife Cathy Harris, sister Raina Harris Baldeschwiler, step-daughter Traci Purcell, niece Samantha Mullins, nephews Derek and Dylan Baldeschwiler and granddaughters Trinity and Tristyn Purcell.
Sam was preceded in death by his father, Sam Harris Sr., mother, Wanda McElroy, sister, Susan Campbell, brother, Donald Vanbibber, and son, Matthew Harris.
A family gathering is planned at the home of Stan and Jean Bunch in Granbury on Saturday April 6 at 2 p.m. Cremation arrangements are directed by Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
