Robert “Bob” J. Marsh of Granbury, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 in Granbury.
Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Rosary and visitation: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Memorials: Hospice Plus, 3100 McKinnon, Dallas, Texas 75201 or charity of choice.
Robert was born Sept. 16, 1933 in Detroit, Mich. to Harry B. and Katherine Kirby Marsh. He married Betty Joan Campbell on Oct. 2, 1954 in Truth or Consequences, N. M.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and from the civil service. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Chapter 11, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 0491.
Robert graduated from Hot Springs High School in Truth or Consequences and received B.A. and M.A. degrees in education from the University of Maine and was a teacher and counselor.
Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf, country music on his guitar and participating in Habitat for Humanity.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas Marsh.
Survivors: Wife, Betty Joan Campbell Marsh; sons and wives, Joe and Lola Marsh, Ken and Shirley Marsh and David Marsh; daughters and husbands, Theresa and Barry Harper, Janet and Fritz Heinzen, June and Jon Haeme and Virginia Marsh; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
