Phyllis Nadean Russo of deCordova, 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Acton United Methodist Church. Burial: Acton Cemetery.

Mrs. Russo was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Samuel Courtney Brown and Lois Nadine Witt Brown. She married Joseph D. Russo, Jan. 5, 1959, in Las Vegas, Nev.

She had been a resident of Granbury for the past 24 years and was a member of Acton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Melody Bells and served as a pianist. She was also a member of the Granbury Civic Chorus. Phyllis was a jazz pianist and played for musicals in California. She was a drum majorette for the Rose Parade in 1947.

Survivors: Husband, Joseph D. Russo of deCordova; sons, Fred Biby and wife, Laurie, of Livermore, Calif., Stephen Biby and wife, Karen, of Oceanside, Calif., Joe M. Russo of China; daughters, Rhonda Montoya of Phoenix, Ariz., Anita Brock of Redondo Beach, Calif., Debbie Makower and husband, Kurt, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dianna Hallock and husband, Daniel, of Castle Rock, Colo., Donna Morris and husband Dennis, of Centennial, Colo.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Courtney Brown and wife, Jeanie, of Sacramento, Calif., George Brown of San Francisco, Calif., Norman Brown and wife, Sylvia, of Sacramento; sisters, Patty Workman and husband, Ron, of Chattsworth, Calif., Bitsy McElroy and husband, Ron, of San Fernando Valley, Calif., Margaret Dibley of Studio City, Calif., Penny Merriett and husband, Steve, of Calabasas, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
