Pearl “Maggie” Jones Elam of Granbury, 91, a longtime Granbury resident and member of Granbury Church of Christ, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Granbury Church of Christ.
Memorials: Cherokee Children’s Home, Cherokee, Texas.
Mrs. Elam was born March 1, 1922, in Tahoka, Texas, to Leroy Earl Jones and Luna Eubanks Jones. She married Ivan Floyd Elam in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1981.
Before moving to Granbury in 1964, Pearl had lived many years in Lampasas and Weatherford. She was office manager for the Granbury Medical Clinic for over 20 years and a volunteer for 20 plus years at Lake Granbury Medical Center after her retirement. She was also an incredible seamstress, avid gardener, lover of Christmas and the best Grandmother in the world.
Besides Floyd, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debbie Elam, and nine brothers and sisters including her twin Jiggs Jones.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Glenn Morris of Fort Worth; grandchildren, David Morris, Evan Morris, Andrew Morris; numerous nieces and nephews; and an endless amount of friends that she loved dearly.
