Odessa Mahan Purselley of Granbury, 99, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Granbury.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Hood County. Visitation was Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Granbury.
Mrs. Purselley was born July 8, 1913, in Fairview to Baxter and Roberta Whitaker Mahan. She married Troy Marlin Purselley, Dec. 20, 1932, in Granbury.
Odessa joined First United Methodist Church in 1921 and took advantage of church activities as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Chapel Class and the Nan Wright Circle of UMW.
Mrs. Purselley was an active partner in the farming operation, operating the Mambrino Country Store and a General Electric sales and service business. She was an active genealogist and a member of the Hood County Genealogy Society. She also enjoyed sewing, crochet and knitting. Odessa enjoyed the use of the computer since 1999 and always loved visits with family and friends.
Mrs. Purselley is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; and many friends.
