Max Tipton of Lipan, 60, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Stephenville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lipan First Baptist Church. Burial: Bishop Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation was Wednesday at Wiley Chapel in Lipan. Memorials: Lipan Fair Fund.
Max was born Oct. 14, 1952, in Stephenville, to Charles Vaughn Tipton and Rose Marchbanks Tipton. He married Cindy Thorn, Sept. 2, 1989, in Lipan. He formerly lived in Corpus Christi for 15 years prior to moving to Lipan two years ago.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morgan Mill. Max was an avid street rodder and a member of the Texas Sheep Dog Association.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Dale Tipton in 1957 and Samuel Vaughn Tipton in 2012.
Survivors: Wife, Cindy Tipton of Lipan; sons, Neal Tipton and wife, Laurayne, Richie Tipton and wife, Ellie, all of Lipan; grandchildren, Cathy, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, Hannah, Joshua, Corbin, Lacy, Noble, Harley, Phoebe, Bennie, Abigail, Matthew and Charlie; four great-grandchildren; parents, Charles and Rose Tipton of Lipan; and six nieces and nephews.
