Margaret Rose Porter Mathis of Granbury, 93, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Holly Hills Mausoleum Chapel in Granbury. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Wiley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mathis was born April 5, 1919, in Greenville, Texas, to Walter and Florence Cox Porter. She was a member of the Handley United Methodist Church in East Fort Worth. Margaret traveled many countries in her younger days. She retired after 40 years as a real estate broker at the age of 87. She then cared for Alzheimer patients. She had cared for a grandson for 26 years because of his disablities. Margaret was a very giving person and never asked for anything. She was a virtuous woman.
Survivors: Son, Charles Blount; daughter, Rosanne Gustafson Kayl and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Denise Bone, Courtney Slack and husband, Andrew, Connie Coyne and husband, Mark, Joanne Gouge and husband, Pat, Courtney Kayl and wife, Amber, Lindsey Kayl, Jerred Kayl; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Hott; brother, Alton Reedy; and many nieces and nephews.
