Thomas F. “Tom” Lowes of Granbury, 77, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial: 3 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at Wiley Funeral Home.
Tom was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Patton, Pa., to John Herman Lowes and Evelyn Analesta Bearer Lowes. He married Marion Joyce Roy, Aug. 3, 1957, in Fort Kent, Maine. In 1959, he went to Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Air Force from which he retired as a major. Tom later worked as an auditor for the Department of Energy and the Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Tom enjoyed golf, reading, his workshop and traveling. He was a volunteer at Mission Granbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, William “Bill” Lowes and Mary Grace Zerfoss.
Survivors: Wife, Joyce Lowes; daughters, Danielle R. Lowes, Stephanie J. Lowes, Marie L. Watkins and husband, Randy; granddaughters, Melissa Berger, Michelle Watkins, Marion Watkins, Madelaine Watkins; great- grandchildren, David and Lucy; brothers and sisters, Mildred Mindala, John “Jack” Lowes Jr., Charles “Chick” Lowes, Marie Sprengel, Linda L. Lowes; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
