Madge Jo Peters Powell of Granbury, 88, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 in Granbury.
Service was at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Burial: Granbury Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home.
Madge was born Jan. 30, 1924 to Will C. and Kate Adams Walters. She was reared on her family farm in Mambrino and graduated from Granbury High School in 1942. She was a devoted Christian and longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Granbury.
She worked at Norman Lumber Company for many years and later managed the Nutt House Dining Room and Hotel. She was an accomplished seamstress and cook who loved sharing her talents with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years, Amon Lee Peters; Conrad Powell; sister, Wilma Kate Umphress; and brother, Bill Cecil Walters.
Survivors: Children: Ray and Pat Peters of Denton, Rex and Carrie Peters of Granbury, Cecil Peters of Granbury, Laura Fisher of Fort Worth and Russ Peters and Bill Cates of Dallas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
