Jewel Earnestine Haskins Langford, of Breckenridge and Granbury, passed away Nov. 3, 2013 at Harbor Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granbury following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
The funeral was Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Necessity Baptist Church near Breckenridge. Interment: Necessity Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Memorials: Necessity Baptist Church where she was a member for over 45 years.
Jewel was born at 9 a.m. on June 27, 1918 in the community of Purmela located in Coryell County to parents, Joe Haskins and Mary Lara Allen Haskins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Haskins; her husband, James Halfred “Hal” Langford; five brothers, Horace, Roy, Allen, Connie, and Raymond; as well as her oldest son, James Merle Langford.
Survivors include: son, Joe Langford and wife Lou Ann of Granbury; four grandchildren, Shannon Hatchel and husband Jimmy of Bowie, Monica Bennett and husband Jeff of Runaway Bay; Debbie Blackburn of Keller, Guy Garland and wife Leslie of Granbury; nine great-grandchildren, Mashae and Cole Peace of Bowie, Chelsie, Brandi and Luke Bennett of Runaway Bay, Taylor and Woodie Blackburn of Keller, and Cody and Beau Garland of Granbury.
