Grace Meister, former resident of the Estates at Lake Granbury, passed from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012. She spent her final years in Virginia Beach, Va. surrounded by family.
Grace was born on Thanksgiving Day, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Thomas Holgan and Grace Duff Ballantine Holgan. She was a talented soprano and sang in the choir at every Lutheran Church she attended.
Grace loved art, and produced award winning paintings cherished by her family. She had a quick wit, impeccable taste and unfailing loyalty to her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter, their daughter Linda Peronnet, and siblings Agnes, Mildred, Maude, Flora, Thomas, William and Isabella, she is survived by her son Capt. John T Meister USN-Ret and wife Donna, sister Ann Venneri, Grandchildren David Peronnet, Susanne Hughes, Kristine Neronski and Jeffrey Meister, and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service is planned at the home of her son in Virginia.
