Geraldine “Jerry” Foust of Lipan, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in Mineral Wells.
Graveside service: 4 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Patillo, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Chapel in Lipan.
Memorials: American Cancer Society.
Geraldine Yvonne Lindsey was born July 3, 1922, in Whittier, Calif., to Robert Russell Lindsey and Rosa Edith Dyches Lindsey. She graduated from high school in 1940. She attended and graduated from Howard Payne University and then attended Tarleton State University and received certification to teach LLD children. On May 25, 1947, she married Hubert Foust in Breckenridge, Texas in the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Foust taught 31 years in the following schools: Sipe Springs, Texas, Cross Cut (near Brownwood), Woodland Heights Elementary in Brownwood, Grayford, Palo Pinto, Gordon and Lipan.
She was active in local politics in Lipan and attended all the school board meetings. She believed that every child deserves an education. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert Foust, and brother, Robert Lindsey.
Survivors: Son, Mark Lindsey Foust and wife, Melissa, of Lipan; daughter, Sandra Foust Poynor and husband, Clay, of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Trent Justin Poynor of Granbury, Tres Ryan Poynor of Bridgeport, Lindsey Elizabeth Poynor Reed of Lewisville, Marcus Foust of Lipan, Tanden Foust of Lipan; great grandsons, Malachi Poynor, Gavin Poynor; great granddaughter, Minneia Poynor: a niece and a nephew, cousins, Barbara Ausborn of Irving, Sue Farmer of Corpus Christi, Texas; and many friends.
