In the early morning of Nov. 9, 2013 Francis Wayland Burton passed away at his home in Colorado City, Texas. His loving wife Doris was by his side.
Wayland was born Oct. 25, 1936 in Wichita Falls to Lois and Francis Burton. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School. He later moved to Snyder where he worked and retired from Sun Oil Company. Later in life while living in Colorado City he reunited with his high school sweetheart Doris Wall from Wichita Falls. They married in November of 2006.
Survivors include his wife Doris, two sons, Kelly Burton and wife Jessica of Granbury, Guy Kerrick and wife Carol, of Fort Worth and one daughter Kim Price of New Braunfels. Also three stepsons, Glenn Orms of Denver,Co., Clint Orms and wife Roxie of Kerrville, and Victor Orms and wife Kelly of Coppell. Eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other family and many cherished friends.
Wayland requested to be cremated. He loved his Lord and Savior, and his family. He also enjoyed and deeply cared for many homeless animals.
A memorial will be held Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City. Condolences may be made to the family at www.kikerseale.com.
