Elsie Welena Parker ‘Jean’ Loftin

Elsie Welena Parker “Jean” Loftin of Round Rock and formerly Granbury, better known to her longtime friends as Jean Parker, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 12, 2013, in Round Rock. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial: Granbury Cemetery. Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.

Jean was born May 18, 1925, in a farmhouse near Robinson Creek in northern Hood County. She was the eldest of eight children born to Lee McDonald “Buck” Green and Zada Lou Tidwell Green. She married Frank M. “Goger” Parker, Dec. 2, 1947. They had three children, Gerald, Gary and Marla.

She was a longtime resident of Hood County, moving to Round Rock, to live with her daughter in 2004. Jean lived a long and full life, always friendly and kind to everyone that came in contact with her. She never knew a stranger, her door was always open and nobody ever left her house hungry or feeling alone. She always gave of herself, never thinking about herself first. She epitomized the scripture in the Bible that says, “God is love.”Jean gave to and taught her children God’s most precious gift, unconditional love. Today, the world is a little sadder place because of her passing, but heaven just got a whole lot brighter when God welcomed his brightest angel home.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Parker, her parents, Buck and Zada Green, one sister, Juanita Moore, brothers, Kenneth Green, Bobby Green, Richard Green and Benny Green.
