Curtis E. Matthews Sr., of Granbury, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Granbury.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Acton Baptist Church. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Wiley Funeral Home.

Mr. Matthews was born April 14, 1929, in Haskell County, to Otis Millard Matthews and Ruby E. Weaver Matthews. He married Evelyn Joyce Melton, April 4, 1953, in Munday.
Curtis was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a welder and mechanic for Bell Helicopter for 27 years. He was a member of the Acton Baptist Church, was a 50-year Mason and member of the Knox County Masonic Lodge. He was a craftsman and enjoyed metal craft. Curtis loved being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Johnny Matthews.
Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Joyce Matthews; children, Vicki Matthews and Steve Holbrook, Curtis Matthews, Jr. and wife, Christi, Tommy Matthews and wife, Bridgette; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Vernie Holman, Joyce Miller and husband, Durwood; brother, Jerry Matthews and wife, Myrna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
