Wounded man hospitalized
A 57-year-old Hood County man who reportedly accidentally shot himself Monday was flown by air ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
The bullet from a handgun struck the man in the left thigh area, according to emergency scanner traffic.
The incident reportedly happened in the 1300 block of Porter Court, northeast of Granbury. The incident was called in to 911 dispatch at about noon.
The shooting victim was transported by ambulance to an impromptu helicopter landing zone, set up in an open field just inside the entrance to a nearby subdivision, The Peninsula.
No information was available on the extent of the injury at press time.
