An “ongoing dispute” sparked a fight between two women that led to Sunday’s arrest of a 32-year-old Hood County resident on a second-degree felony count, Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said.
Regina Ann Velasquez, of the 3900 block of Greenbrook Street in the Oak Trail Shores subdivision northwest of Granbury, is charged with burglary with assault, Rose noted. Velasquez is accused of striking a 41-year-old female victim “in the head, face and upper torso” with her fist, Rose said.
“Velasquez allegedly entered the victim’s home at the 3900 block of Briarwood Street without permission and assaulted the female victim,” Rose said. “The victim was treated and released at the Lake Granbury Medical Center. The suspect and victim had an ongoing dispute that ignited the fight.”
Rose said that Velasquez fled the scene after the alleged assault. Deputies arrested her on the warrant at her residence. Her bond is set at $50,000.
A man from River Oaks accused of stealing about $10,000 worth of jewelry from a location in the 6000 block of Dayla Court in the Blue Water Shores subdivision southeast of Granbury was arrested by a Hood County deputy on Nov. 15.
Christopher Woodward, 30, was transported from the substance abuse felony program unit in Rusk County to the Hood County Jail on a theft warrant, Rose said.
Rose noted that Woodward had been sentenced by another jurisdiction to the Texas Department of Corrections drug treatment program in Rusk County.
Woodward was arraigned by a Hood County judge and released from the Hood County Jail after posting $10,000 bond, Rose said.
A 46-year-old woman was arrested at about 8 p.m. last Wednesday in the 6300 block of Fall Creek Highway for interfering with child custody by “not returning a 10-year-old child to her ex-husband,” Rose said.
Michelle Higdon Broussard, of Liberty, Texas, was charged with a state jail felony count in connection with the incident in which a child custody court order had been issued, Rose said.
“The 10-year-old child was located at a residence on Crube Court and returned to the father,” Rose stated.
Broussard was released from custody after posting $30,000 bond.
