Two women arrested in DPS meth case

Two out-of-town women were arrested on third-degree felony charges on suspicion of methamphetamine possession by a DPS trooper on Jan. 30 during a traffic stop on Highway 377, according to Hood County Jail booking records.

At about 6:45 a.m., Annette Lopez Ellingburg, 29, of San Angelo, and Frances Elaine Slaughter, 22, of Midlothian, were taken into custody.

Each was charged with possession of a controlled substance, more than 1 gram/less than 4 grams.

As of press time, both Slaughter and Ellingburg remained in custody, under a bond of $20,000 apiece.
