Your opportunity to learn how to become a storm spotter will come on Monday with a training meeting at Showbiz Cinemas, 1201 Water’s Edge in Granbury.
A National Weather Service representative in Fort Worth will give a multimedia SKYWARN severe weather program from 7-9 p.m. as part of the agency’s area-wide weather preparedness campaign.
It’s free, open to anyone, and no advance registration is required. There will be 60 such training sessions in various cities, conducted by personnel from the NWS in Fort Worth.
“Even if you don’t become an active storm spotter, you will learn about how storms work and the visual clues you can identify when storms are in your area,” said Mark Fox, warning coordination meteorologist at the NWS office.
