February 9, 2013

A 25-year-old Hood County man is accused of choking his girlfriend during a domestic disturbance just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose said.

Mark Wayne Shannon, of the 1000 block of Pawnee Trail in the Indian Harbor subdivision, was arrested by deputies after he was accused of choking his 24-year-old girlfriend during an argument, Rose said.

“The victim was not seriously injured during the incident,” Rose stated.

Shannon was charged with a third-degree felony count of family violence assault/choking, according to Rose. Shannon remained in the Hood County Jail as of press time, with bond set at $20,000.

A resident of the Stroud Creek Estates subdivision northwest of Granbury was arrested by a Hood County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Jan. 31 and is accused of having methamphetamine, Rose said.

Paul Allen Turnbull, 21, of the 3800 block of Blue Lake Court, was taken into custody at about 3 p.m. during a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Oak Trail Drive in the Oak Trail Shores subdivision.

“During the stop, under a gram of meth was discovered,” Rose stated.

Turnbull is facing a state jail felony count of possession of a controlled substance. Hood County Jail booking records show that he was released from custody on Feb. 1 after posting $5,000 bond.
