Some of the new railroad crossing equipment to be installed on Rock Church Highway off Highway 377 near Tolar is seen on the ground Wednesday. Tolar ISD Superintendent Bruce Gibbs said that school officials have been requesting crossing arms for that spot for several years from the Fort Worth and Western Railroad because of safety concerns for students, teachers and parents driving to and from the nearby high school. The existing signals, seen in the background, have had a history of malfunctioning, Gibbs said. The projected installation date for the new signals and crossing arms was not available at press time.
