Resident arrested on meth count during DPS stop

A 54-year-old Hood County man is accused of methamphetamine possession after being pulled over on a traffic stop by a DPS state trooper on Feb. 6 on Mitchell Bend Court, according to Hood County Jail booking desk information.

Toby Juara Corbell, of the 700 block of Sun Court in the Sky Harbour subdivision north of Granbury, was arrested at just after 2:30 p.m. and charged with a state jail felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than 1 gram.

Corbell’s bond was set at $5,000, and he was still in the Hood County Jail as of press time, records show. Corbell also had a warrant for a first-degree felony, violation of parole, booking records indicate.

Azle man arrested

A 22-year-old Azle man was arrested by a DPS state trooper on Jan. 31 during a traffic stop and accused of having methamphetamine.

Colby Lee Childs was taken into custody at 1:45 p.m. on Highway 377 near the intersection with James Road. He was charged with a state jail felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than 1 gram, records show. He was released on Feb. 2 after posting $5,000 bond.

Childs also had two outstanding warrants for traffic offenses – speeding and failure to appear – from the Hutchins Police Department, with fines totaling $694.
