Rain clouds that moved through the area Saturday were welcome visitors.
They just didn’t hang out long enough.
And the drought remains.
A gauge in the Acton area got 1.3 inches of rainfall, which was the largest total reported in Hood County for the day.
The Granbury Regional Airport reported getting .68 inches.
The gauge at the Hood County News received .58 inches.
A residence in Pecan Plantation received three-quarters of an inch, and Cresson got .51.
One location in the Laguna Vista subdivision north of Granbury had .6 inches.
On the west side of the county, a residence in Tolar had half an inch. Lipan got .4 inches, but a spot not far away, off Highway 281 in Palo Pinto County, collected considerably more – 1.7 inches.
The Brazos River Authority website shows that as of midnight Sunday Lake Granbury remained about 9.5 feet below normal level.
