A man seen speeding on a motorcycle tried to elude a deputy Tuesday night in a 3-mile vehicle pursuit on Weatherford Highway that reached speeds of up to 100 mph before the bike crashed and he was arrested, according to Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose.

Christopher Cody King, 29, of the 800 block of Whippoorwill Drive in the Whippoorwill Bay subdivision north of Granbury, was charged with felony evading with a vehicle, Rose said. King also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant on a reckless driving charge out of Wise County, Rose stated.

“The deputy attempted to stop the driver of the motorcycle, who refused to pull over,” Rose said, adding that he first spotted King traveling “at a high rate of speed” in the area of Lantana Drive. “Eventually the driver lost control of his motorcycle.”

Rose said that King was not injured in the crash.

King is in the Hood County Jail waiting to see a judge and have his bond amount set, Rose noted.
